Getting started

Arrive ten to fifteen
minutes early.

Check in, sign the waiver, leave your things somewhere safe and get an apron and gloves on, so the hour starts at the station and not at the door.

What to wear

Come comfortable.
We bring the protection.

Aprons and gloves are supplied and the stations keep most of the paint where it belongs, so do not worry about getting dirty. It is still real paint, though, and it can stain: we advise something casual rather than the outfit you would hate to mark.

Getting here

Parking and
public transit.

Street parking is on Saint-Viateur and the streets around it: some days there is plenty, some days less, so leave a few minutes for it. By metro, Laurier on the orange line is a fifteen-minute walk; the 55 bus runs along Saint-Laurent and stops at Saint-Viateur, a minute from the door.

Good questions

Before you book.

The things people ask us most, answered quickly.

What is ArtChaos?

ArtChaos is a social art studio and creative event venue in Montréal. Guests make Spin Art canvases, Fluid Toys and seasonal pour-art projects with simple guidance from our team.

What is Spin Art?

Spin Art uses a motorized platform that rotates a canvas. You apply paint while changing the speed and position, creating circular movement, layers and patterns that are difficult to reproduce twice.

What are Fluid Toys?

Fluid Toys are collectible figures decorated by pouring selected paint colours and optional glitter over the surface. Each pour creates a different pattern.

Do I need art experience?

No. There is no drawing requirement and no traditional painting class. The team explains the equipment and technique, then you choose the colours and make the piece your own.

How long does an experience take?

A regular session runs 60 minutes. Larger private group events can run for two to three hours.

What is included?

Paint, tools, protective equipment, use of the studio equipment, basic guidance and your finished creation are included unless a specific package states otherwise.

How many people can participate?

A regular Spin Art station accommodates 1–4 artists. Organized group formats are available for approximately 12–50 guests.

Can children participate?

Yes. ArtChaos is popular with families and children. Published child pricing applies to ages 5–13, and children under 4 are free. Adults should supervise young children.

Does the artwork need to dry?

Yes, and we do it here. The finished canvas goes into the drying oven for fifteen to twenty minutes, and you take it home the same day.

What should I wear?

Protective equipment is provided, but paint is part of the experience. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes you would not mind bringing into a creative studio.

Can ArtChaos host birthdays or corporate events?

Yes. ArtChaos offers birthdays, team building, school trips, bachelorettes and private group events, with food and drink options available.

Where is ArtChaos?

ArtChaos is located at 31 Saint-Viateur Est in Montréal's Mile End neighbourhood.

Can I bring a birthday cake?

Yes. Birthday groups can bring a cake at no extra charge. Outside food and drinks are otherwise not permitted; the bar is in the room.

Does the birthday person pay?

No. The person celebrating their birthday paints free.

How large can a birthday group be?

Small groups book online. For larger parties, especially groups approaching thirty guests, send us a request so we can plan the stations and timing.

Can we walk in?

Yes, if stations are available. Booking in advance is the best way to guarantee your preferred time.

Can I come alone?

Yes.

Can I buy an additional canvas?

Yes. Additional canvases can be added depending on availability.

Can I bring my own paint?

No. Our paints are prepared for the process and have the consistency spin art needs.
