TEAM BUILDING · MILE END

NOBODY IS BAD
AT THIS ONE.

No icebreaker, no challenge, no teams. The group gets paint and a drink, and the social part takes care of itself.

WHY ARTCHAOS WORKS FOR COMPANY GROUPS

People don’t all use the studio the same way. Some start painting immediately. Some walk around and look at everyone else’s canvas before touching their own. Some spend a lot of time talking, and someone usually becomes unexpectedly serious about colour selection. That difference is useful: the group has a reason to interact without everyone having to participate in exactly the same way.

How it works

Do less thinking.
Make more.

01

Arrive

We are at 31 Saint-Viateur Est, in Mile End. Street parking is on Saint-Viateur and the streets around it: some days plenty, some days less. By metro, get off at Laurier and walk fifteen minutes, or take the 55 bus along Saint-Laurent and get off at Saint-Viateur. At the door you sign a short disclaimer, then we hand you an apron and gloves, because there is always a chance of paint on you. Your Art Master walks you to your station.

02

Practice

Before anything that counts, a practice canvas. Your Art Master shows the machine, the bottles and the two or three movements that do most of the work, then you try them yourself. Nothing important can go wrong here, and most people find their colours in these five minutes.

03

Create

Then the real one. You choose the colours, you decide when to pour and when to spin, and the table does the rest. If you want, we take photos while you work and with the finished piece, and email them to you privately. Nothing is published.

04

Stay

The wet canvas goes into the drying oven for fifteen to twenty minutes. That is the moment for the bar on the other side of the room: a cocktail, a beer, something without alcohol, a snack, and an opinion about everyone else’s canvas.

05

Leave

Once it is dry, the canvas goes into a bag and home with you, along with the hour you spent making it. Next time, try a different technique: nobody has made the same canvas twice.

Team building

EVERYONE STARTS ON EQUAL GROUND

There is no physical challenge, and previous art experience doesn’t offer much of an advantage. Most people are trying spin art for the first time, so the group starts level. That makes it work for teams with different ages, roles and personalities.

INDIVIDUAL OR COLLABORATIVE PAINTINGS

A team can make individual pieces, or work together. Colleagues naturally begin helping each other with colours, discussing techniques and, often, deciding to make something for the office. If you want, we build the session around a shared artwork, and the finished piece goes back with you.

FOOD, DRINKS AND TIME TO TALK

Nobody has to paint continuously. There is room to stop, order something, talk and come back to the canvas. For larger company events, contact us rather than booking stations separately: tell us your group size, timing and the kind of event, and we build the session around it.
